This Tacoma single cutaway acoustic-electric features huge, rich sound and excellent construction. This instrument is from the era of Koa solid backs and prior to Fender's takeover in 2004. The instrument is in excellent condition. Production of the JK50CE began in 1997. The Tacoma JK50CE features a Gloss finish, Solid Spruce top, Solid flamed Koa back with laminate Koa sides, Ivoroid bound body, neck, and peghead, Maple inlaid curly Koa peghead overlay, Abalone fingerboard inlays, Rosewood fingerboard and "Tone Shaped" bridge and Slim neck with low shoulders for comfortable play.
The JK50CE4 has a Fishman Prefix Plus Active preamp with volume, notch, low, high, contour, brilliance, frequency and a phase switch paired with a piezo electric film pickup.
These Tacoma Guitars use "VS" bracing is a radical advance over traditional acoustic guitar bracing. Their "Tone Shaped" bridge is wide and flat on the bass side, and narrow and peaked on the treble side. Our solid Maple bridge plate is asymmetrical, and placed diagonally to enhance the dispersion patterns of our bridge design. Our matched bridge and bridge plate configuration balances the bass and treble. There are no sharp corners on the front edge of the bridge to concentrate stress on the top.
